Heartbreaking – Please Open Your Eyes!

I have just watched the most heartbreaking, stomach turning and excruciatingly painful youtube video I have ever seen.  The subject of the video isn’t unusual or rare, it continues to happen as I write.

Heartbreakingly for every video we see there are thousands of babies being battered. From birth to 3 years old (which is the most vulnerable age group for child abuse) they are suffering appalling heartbreaking abuse without a voice.

As excruciating as this video is to watch I am glad that it was done. It led to the mother’s conviction and has made others who dare to watch it aware – even if their eyes are open for only one day.  I for one know – I don’t want to turn a blind eye.  What can I do to help?  What can we all do to help?  Government funding is continuing to be stripped from the places that were specifically set up to help vulnerable parents. They need this help with their parenting skills. With the Sure Start centers being closed everyday child abuse will go underground.

I’m sure if David Cameron relied on help like these places give, they would all still be open. Resources would and should be there to help the most heartbreaking vulnerable group in society. Not just to help the mentally unstable parents to recover.

To ensure that all babies and young children have the start in life they deserve. They in turn have a chance to become healthy parents themselves.  Creating a future without fear a future without heartbreaking abuse of babies.
